Joe: Moped Problem
Although one of the moped retailers was very interested over
the phone last week about participating to Death Monkey as a
supplier of mopeds,he haven't contacted me after last Thursday.
I've tried to reach him, but for some reason he doesn't seem to
be eager to pick up the phone.
This means that our upcoming weekends warm-up trip is in real
danger. Of course we can get to A-K's cabin by car, but it
isn't nearly as useful considering the trip laying ahead. It
would be nice to get some touch in driving with these little
buggers.
Anyway, we need those mopeds as soon as possible. And we are
gonna buy them anyway so this would be an excellent opportunity
to get some visibility to one of the several monkey
manufacturers!
Joe
Bob: We've got Monkeys!
Joe and I went to Tampere today, and as result we now have
secured three brand-new Skyteam Monkeys through sponsorship
from Motor Power and
the Skyteam
factory.
In addition to the bikes that should be available before
weekend we will also get a hoard of spare parts.
This is a great leap for the project, as now we only need to
confirm the maintenance car and ferry services to Germany.
Thanks to Motor Power for the deal! In addition to Monkey's,
the company also sells Huoniao "Red Army - Long March"
motorcycles. Fascinating...
Joe: Being a Monkey
Monkeying around doesn't mean only climbing up trees, shagging
and detecting flees from your skin. Sometimes even the leading
chimpanzee has to relax, socialize and negotiate with sponsors.
For these rare occasions every ape has a decent suit.

Of course the white camouflage works much better on winter
season, but it attracts more interested females when apes have
a light tanning. Only thing that would make an ape more natural
in the urban jungle would be roaming 50cc motor between his
legs and autobahn in front of him.
Joe
Skoll: Change of plans
So it happens, that we were a bit late with reserving the ferry
tickets to Germany. When I called they had only luxury cabins
left which would have cost too much. Thus we decided to add
about 1000 km to the trip and drive through Sweden and Denmark.
And to make sure we won't take the easy way out, we also
decided to drop the service car.
On a different note, today we should get the mopeds finally.

Bob: Monkey bikes are now home
Last night your valiant trio travelled to the far city of Tampere to fetch three fresh Skyteam Monkeys from our sponsor, Motor Power. The bikes mostly correspond to the colors of the monkeys: Joe has a red bike, Skoll a blue one, and Bob a chrome one.
Now after couple of kilometers of parking lot riding, I have to
say I'm really happy we decided to go with Skyteam. The bikes
are on a completely different level technologically from our
aging
Jincheng monkey. The bikes have electric starter, clutch,
and other nice features that will make the trip much easier.
Unfortunately the bikes were not registered, and so we had to
get them home via van. However, registrations have now been
handled and we should get the license plates by monday.
Bob: Grab your Monkey banner!
Joonas from Piippunaakka was kind enough to make us this cool Flash banner:
Updated: The banner is now on the front page of IRC-galleria, the most popular net community in Finland. Thanks for the support!

Joe: Open for all
Because our media sponsors have activated and the number of daily visits on this site has exploded, there has been some interest to participate. To save my precious time, I'm gonna answer these questions her, instead replying to every mail I get.
1. Our rallye is open for everybody.
2. What you need is a monkey (preferably Skyteam Monkey bought from Motor Power , any live monkey will do as well), cash to get some sort of accommodation and enough gasolin to reach Gibraltar. Toothbrush and towel are necessities as well. At least towel.
3. If you want to participate, haul your ass to north end of Hietaniemi beach on Friday around 15:00 with all equipment packed on your moped and be ready to purchase a ticket to a ferry.
4. If you don't want to participate, you still can come and hang around before we start our trip.
If you have other questions, please mail me to joe@suicidesurfers.org, I'll reply if I have time.
